Insignis Forest Partnership
Annual Report
7 April 2003

Dear Partner,
We are pleased to report as follows:

Forest Stand Progress
The partnership’s Consultant recently inspected your Ramshead and Paratu forests to advise, (mostly on pruning quality, timing, extent and systems) and to report to the Manager.

All three of your Radiata pine clearwood regimes are due for various degrees of pruning now or later this year.

The Ramshead forest, 14 hectares of which had its first pruning lift last year (ahead of schedule) is currently receiving further first lift pruning over approximately another 48 hectares.

Paratu forest is mid way through its first lift at the moment. The entire area will receive this treatment.

Chimney Creek forest may warrant a first lift over some 20% of its area later in the year.

The Consultant will advise on that after we carry out some plot analysis to determine average tree heights and diameters across the forest.

Overall the Insignis forests are exhibiting good growth and form and are ahead of original forecasts.

Budget 2003 & Tax Loss 2002
The proposed budget enclosed is with your Consultant for approval. It indicates a need for $1,350 per unit this year, mostly for pruning.

We enclose a request for payment. If need be, payment can be in instalments to suit your circumstances to some extent as all of the funds are not required at once. However we prefer one payment if at all possible.

The latest Tax Loss Certificate will be sent to you very soon.

If you have any queries about anything, or want more information, please don't hesitate to contact us at any time.
