Amuri Hills Forest Partnership
Annual Report
1 April 2003

Dear Partners,
We are pleased to report as follows:

Forest Stand Progress
The partnership’s Consultant recently inspected your forest stands to advise (mostly on pruning timing, extent and systems) and report to the Committee.

GT1, LH1 and HF2, your Radiata pine clearwood regimes are all due for more pruning now or later this year.

HF2 will only require a second lift to be fully pruned, as growth has been so good there. It will be thinned this year too.

The Consultant advised a further 30% of LH1 should receive a first pruning lift and the half already done should receive a second lift later in the year. Similar advice applies to GT1. In both these forests there are some areas (about 20%) where due to wind exposure, form and growth are not good enough to merit adding value by pruning. Such areas will be grown as unpruned stands.

GT2 and GT3, your Douglas-fir stands are exhibiting good form, growth and health and only continued possum control is required for now.
Budget 2003 & Tax Loss 2002.

The proposed budget enclosed is with your Committee and Consultant for approval. It indicates a need for $850 per unit this year. There is a surplus from last year so payment timing can be a little flexible if need be. The latest Tax Loss Certificate will be sent to you very soon.

If you have any queries about anything, or want more information, please don't hesitate to contact us at any time.
